The Aribau opened in 1962 with a box-office hit: West Side Story by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins (USA 1961) ran for 95 weeks and 2 days, attracting almost 800,000 viewers to the new cinema. Today the Aribau is a multiplex, with five theatres, but the original Aribau, theatre number 5, still retains its original appearance.
