polynesian and hawaiian bars
KAHIKI
Architect: Esquinasi Year: 1977 Address: Gran Via de las Corts Catalanes, 581 Metro: L1 and L2, Station Universitat / Bus: all lines to Plaça Universitat T:93 323 18 83 Opening times: 6.30pm - 3am; Friday and Saturday 6.30pm - 4.30am
The Kahiki is the least spectacular of Barcelona's three Hawaiian and Polynesian bars, but it is very centrally located, right beside the university on the Gran Via. Anyone eager to tour the city's Hawaii bars should remember that all three establishments are rather quiet from Sunday to Thursday. That has its attractions too, of course. If you only want to visit a bar then go to the Aloha, because it has the best atmosphere. All three places fill up with partying people on Friday and Saturday nights.
